About the work
Rembrandt's 1634 painting presents a richly dressed woman and two attendants around a nautilus-shell cup. The Prado proposes Judith at Holofernes's banquet, while acknowledging competing interpretations and unresolved compositional changes. The 3D cup is a contemporary study whose hidden sides and details are interpretive.
