About the work
What can a portrait keep beyond a face? This English Magic Story follows Giovanna's jewels, a necklace discovered beneath the paint, and the inscription that asks art to preserve character and spirit. Based on the Thyssen catalogue and conservation research. Large original details, explanatory cards, a clearly labelled contemporary 3D pendant study and restrained instrumental music. Giovanna died in 1488; the museum dates the portrait 1489–1490.
