About the work
A reclining figure wears white fabric, a pink sash and pointed yellow shoes. Goya painted The Clothed Maja in 1800–1807, with looser strokes and thicker paint than in the separate Nude Maja. Both were demanded by the Inquisition in November 1814. The experience offers a contemporary digital comparison of the two canvases, without identifying the sitter or reconstructing a historical display. Museo del Prado, Madrid.
